A mysterious group of high school girls begins attacking men at random. After the disappearance of Haruko, these two series of incidents overlap. Is this Haruko’s plot?

  • Review

There are flyers to find a woman named Azumi Haruko. Someone doodles on the flyers. A group of high school girls randomly attack guys, making the headline of the local news. The doodles on the posters become viral online. Speculative stories fill up Twitter. Rumor has it that these girls agitated by the missing of Haruko are revenging on random guys. It became the talk of the town amongst young females.
The world is filled with unfavorable signs. People make wild assumptions on invisible cases, making the cause and effect of the case even more confusing. Meanwhile, someone gets hurt, and the tragedy continues. Japanese Girls Never Die is a tragic fable on the lack of communication in the social-media-addicted modern society. At the same time, it is a delicate report on people’s intimate feelings that cannot be perceived with the medium. [KIM Youngjin]
