Overview

Another ‘Brutal Stories of Women’?screenplay by Song Gil-han, directed by Lee Jangho, and featuring Kim Jimi. 1940s, when the Pacific War was so aggravated, Myong-ja changes her name to Akiko. As she falls in love with Minho, Dong-jin, a left wing intellectual who admired Akiko, is heartbroken and decides to leave for Tokyo. To avoid the forced drafting, Minho decides to abandon his hometown. Myong-ja then decides to look for true love. Her journey goes across Hokkaido to Sakhalin. Feeling homesick, she attains citizenship for North Korea but realizes she can never return home. Myong-ja Akiko Sonia tells the life story of a woman in the midst of national suffering. LEE Jangho
Born in 1945, Seoul. He entered Sin Film which belongs to Director Sin Sang-ok and worked in direction part for eight years. Heavenly homecoming to Stars(1974) is his first film which is based on the novel written by Choi Inho and won new director prize at DaeJong FF. He directed It rained yesterday(1974), Good Windy Day(1980), Declaration Of Idiot(1983) and He hit box office success with Eoh Wu-dong(1985), Lee Jang-ho´s Baseball Team(1986)
