International Competition

Jean-Pierre REHM

A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure, Modern Literature and Philosophy. He taught history and theory of art and film in various Art Schools, curated number of exhibitions, also worked at the French Ministry of Culture. Since 2001, he is the Director of the International Film Festival of Marseille, FIDMarseille. He writes regularly for various media: exhibition catalogues, artists and filmmakers monographs, art and cinema reviews such as 『Cahiers du Cinéma』


Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1955, Ildikó Enyedi directed five features and several shorts winning more than 40 international awards. In 1989, her feature film, My 20th Century (1989) won the Golden Camera Award at Cannes Film Festival and was selected among the 10 best films of the year by The New York Times. In 1992, she was the member of the jury at Berlin International Film Festival. She is a professor at the University of Film and Drama Arts in Budapest and a member of the European Film Academy.

Dominique CABRERA

Born in 1957, Algeria. Since 1962, studied at Institut des Hautes Études Cinématographiques(IDHEC) and she earned a reputation with her short films and documentary films using photo imagery. After Suberbian Memories(1990), she has made her unique film world widely dealing with human psychology, politics, and emotion. Corniche Kennedy is her recent film.

PARK Jinpyo

Born in 1966, Seoul, South Korea. Graduated from Chungang University, majored in Film Study. In 1991, started as a SBS producer, produced 「I Want to Know about It」 In 2002, his debut feature film Too Young to Die(2002), won FIPRESCI Award and PSB Award at the 7th Busan International Film Festival, and was invited to the 55th Cannes Film Festival Critics’ Week. He also directed You’re My Sunshine!(2005), Voice of A Murder(2007), Closer to Heaven(2009).

HA Jiwon

Debut in 1997. She won several awards such as the Best Supporting Actress at the 21th Blue Dragon Awards and the Best Rookie Actress Award at the 1st Busan Film Critics Association with Ditto(2000), and the Best Rookie Actress Award at the 37th DaeJong Film Festival Award with Truth Game(2000). In 2009, she received the Best Actress at the 30th Blue Dragon Award through Closer to Heaven. She drew notice as a box office actress with Haeundae(2009) directed by Yoon Je-kyoon.

Jacob WONG

Curator of the Hong Kong International Film Festival, and Director of the Hong Kong- Asia Film Financing Forum(HAF) which celebrated its 15th anniversary. In collaboration with China's Heyi Pictures, he was the HKIFF's producer for the Beautiful(2013-2016) short film series, and for the Early Bird New Directors Film Fund launched in August 2016. He is also the Delegate for East Asia for the Berlin International Film.


Born in 1975 in Cordova, Argentina. Cecilia Barrionuevo has an MA in Creative Documentary Making at Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. A permanent member of the programming team of the Mar de Plata International Film Festival since 2010, and she is in charge of the Official Selections. She also has been a guest programmer for other festivals and museums.

SONG Haeseong

Born in 1964. Graduated from Hanyang University, Department of Theater and Film. He started his cinematic life as an assistant director for many feature films and he made his directorial debut film with Calla(1999). His second film Failan(2001) was successfully released and won the 39th DaeJong Film Best Director Award, Best Director Award and the Grand Prize at the 4th Deauville Asian Film Festival. He directed several feature films such as Rikidozan: A Hero Extraordinary(2004), Maundy Thursday(2006), A Better Tomorrow(2010), and Boomerang Family(2013) and so on.

Jukka-Pekka Laakso

The festival director of Tampere Film Festival since 2002, has been involved with the selection and programming since 2000. He also acts as the executive director of Pirkanmaa Film Centre, a local film center in Tampere which is a non-profit organization that runs an art-house cinema, distributes films in Finland and works extensively with media education. He is a member of European Film Academy.

KIM Jongkwan

Born in 1975, Daejeon, South Korea. Graduated from Seoul Institute of the Arts, majored in Film. How to Operate a Polaroid Camera(2004) was screened at several film festivals including the 6th Jeonju International Film Festival and the 8th JeonBuk Independent Film Festival. He directed Come, Closer(2010), a full-length omnibus film, which was screened in the Panorama section of the 15th Busan International Film Festival. His second feature film, Worst Woman was theatrically released and won FIPRESCI Award at the 38th Moscow International Film Festival. His latest film The Table is being prepared for release.

JUNG Eunchae

Born in 1986. She studied at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design. In 2010, she made her debut as an actress in Haunters(2010). Starred in The Fatal Encounter(2014), The King(2016) and numerous music video and TV drama, she has shown her talent in various media. She drew notice in Nobody’s Daughter Haewon(2012) directed by HONG Sangsoo, received Best New Actress at the 22th Buil Film Awards and at the KOFRA Film Awards in 2013.


HAN Changho

Film critic. Studied in University of Bologna in Italy, majored in Film Study. He is currently writing film reviews at various media including 『Cine 21』 He is the author of the books 『Film and Opera』(2009), 『The Actress』(2015), etc.


Alka Sadat is an Afghan documentary and feature film producer, director and cameraman. She became famous for her first 25-minute film Half Value Life(2008), which highlights social injustice and crime, receiving the Afghan Peace Prize. Since then, she has made many documentaries and has won many international awards. In 2013, she founded the 1st Afghanistan International Women’s Film Festival.

JEON Hyejung

She graduated from Ewha womans university. She is a festival director of London East Asia Film Festival. She worked in London Korean Film Festival as a festival director for 9 years. She has contributed to promote a variety of Korean films and Asian films in London. She was an advisor of Korean special exhibition in Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2013. She participated in a jury of Korean Fantastic section of Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in 2016.
